Safari lodges in the orchard, surrounded by woodland

The setting for this luxury woodland camping in the UK is an old cider orchard, surrounded by woodland, set in deepest Dorset.   This heavenly setting, provides privacy, seclusion as well as freedom and endless interest for children and adults alike.

You are amongst the dappled shade, wild flowers, meadows, oaks, coppice and woods.

There are monkey swings, woodland to explore and picnic in, your own camp fire to build and cook on, hammocks to rest in, and a host of adventurous activities (shooting, riding, bushcraft, archery, hot air ballooning).

In short it is the most perfect UK glamping holiday for families or for a small group of friends that want the place to themselves.

The canvas lodges are comfortable, with rustic elegance.  In camping terms they are pure luxury.   The veranda has a table and chairs for alfresco dining and a gin and tonic (inclusive) on the table.  The living area has a wood stove.   The kitchen has a 4 ring gas hob for cooking.  The beds have the finest cotton sheets and feather pillows (we can provide non-feather if needed).  Last but not least there is a shower room and loo adjoining, in a wooden room at the back.  This is camping in style.  For those not used to camping, relax.

We can also provide service (cooking, cleaning, and mother's help) taking luxury glamping in the UK to another level.  Glamping for families has never been so relaxing.

The lodges named after famous owners of Stalbridge Park, Sir Robert Boyle (scientist who formulated Boyle's Law) and the Earl of Uxbridge (commanded the cavalry at Waterloo).

Living quarters

The canvas tent is 5 metres (16 feet) by 12 metres (40 feet) with an additional veranda on the front.   There is a great deal of room to enjoy, live, relax, wash and sleep.

At the front of the tent is the dining table as well as a few comfortable chairs for surveying the scene, playing draughts, reading, talking or whatever takes your fancy.

Next comes the kitchen area with the wood burning stove as well as a 4 ring gas stove and a few cupboards with the kitchen basics.

The sleeping area has a double bed, and three singles.  All cotton sheets and feather pillows (we can provide alternatives if needed).

The plumbed in shower room and loo is ensuite, and is encased with timber, and adjoins the tent at the back.
